  Cloves are the dried, unopened flower buds of an evergreen tree native to the fabled Spice Islands. A pinch of Ground Cloves adds spicy depth to gingerbread, cookies, applesauce, fruit muffins, and spice cakes. It’s also a secret ingredient in barbecue and cocktail sauces. Blend Ground Cloves with maple syrup and drizzle over cooked sweet potatoes and winter squash.
